Question is... is it possible to let limited users print on a printer from sme 7.2. seems admin/power users can only print to it. Clients are xp pro and logged in to domain using roming profiles. When a limited user tries to print the printer cache comes up with an error. Is a network printer connected to a switch. Any ideas? Can provide more info if needed. Thanx a bunch for reading 8-)

Users should be able to access the printer as long as they have the right permissions, eg. they MUST have an account on the server.
Try this http://wiki.contribs.org/SME_Server:Documentation:Administration_Manual:Chapter13#Printers (http://wiki.contribs.org/SME_Server:Documentation:Administration_Manual:Chapter13#Printers)
comes up with an error
1. What is the error?
Is a network printer connected to a switch.
2. Did you enter the hostname or IP address and the network printer name when setting up the printer in the server-manager?
seems admin/power users can only print to it.
3. Has anyone at all been able to print to this printer?

Logged into the DC with roaming profiles so I'm sure they have an account.
1. Printer cache error.
2. Yes.
3. Admin group, Power User Group, can print. Also non domain pc's can print. Just Limited User Group cannot print.
We need to have some users to be Limited because of past problems. But still need print capabilities.
Thanks for your time... Will post if I figure it out... but tried everything I can think of :/

Ok, this is just out of curiosity more than anything, are you using SME as a DC? Or are you using a separate windows DC with the roaming profiles?
Are the limited users the only ones with roaming profiles?
Good luck

Yes. SME is DC and all users are required to login to the domain. All users have roaming profiles on SME DC. I think it's a permision problem on SME server printer. If i try to install or access printer cache it says you do not have sufficient permisions to access this printer cache. I'll try sharing it through windows instead of going through the server and see what happens. Thanx for your time :) will keep updating here with my progress tommorow.
