Title: samba admin permission
Post by: crusader on November 24, 2007, 03:53:45 AM
I use a up to date sme 7.2. I joined a windows xp client machine to my samba domain and used the admin user to login on that machine, but strangely I do not get admin permissions with that user, eventhough the line: admin user admin is active in my smb.conf file (which should as far as I know, active by default).

Does someone know how I can fix that problem?

Create a group in your SME server-manager, name it whatever you want (e.g. domadmin-grp) and the description "Domain Admins" (EXCATLY that description!).
Then add at least the user admin to that group.
With a next logon as user admin to the XP machine, you should have administrative rights. (This is assuming that the XP machine is joined to the domain of your SME server).
