hi
purchased a new server with an intel motherboard and had the "probing PCI hardware" issue. i found the solution by adding pci=nommconf when i start the installation and it starts but i cannot get passed the point where it asks for a driver for the cd rom. anyone know of a way to get sme installed? this server needs to be delivered monday!

Insert a pci ide card and connect a standard ide cdrom drive.
That should do the trick.
If you have a ide harddisk on that same controller you have to put that on the pci ide card as well.
Cards from promise , highpoint and silicon image i can confirm they work.
The problem is that the kernel doesn't have a driver for your ide controller.(Is it a jmicron controller?)

Dirk
