Solution:

set suid bit on the program

and start with

sudo /sbin/..fullpath

never seen this buggy work...

under debian+ubuntu run sudo command..

but i like the interface of sme, but i don't understand this tricky working...

well

SME is not debian or ubuntu.. it's not CentOS..

SME is SME: a highly customized distro..

if you really want to know how SME works, please:
- read the administration manual
- read the developers manual

you'll find them here: http://wiki.contribs.org/SME_Server:Documentation (http://wiki.contribs.org/SME_Server:Documentation)

IMHO it's not polite to speak about "buggy work"

another thought: if you continue to think "the debian way" you'll never find the right way to use and administer SME

my 2c

Think you got carried away with your "not's"  it is CentOS under the hood.

Hi all

it's ok but its not very easy to understand the system-configuration,
there is no good advanced-manual in german. Sorry, install is no real
problem but fine tune it is.

I don't wanr to rebuild all, but
i want only

- support login for administation+update
- separate partitions of / + /home with quota (quota doesn't run with multipart setup)
- webalizer

only a small office server with webmail..
(the webmail was the problem why i tried to use sme,
cause there no easy setups on net for ubuntu,debian...)

There was a bug over disk layout once, perhaps worth reading as a general layout was reached there: http://bugs.contribs.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1362
