Title: SME VPN to Remote Office
Post by: seb on December 20, 2007, 07:20:36 PM
Hi folks,

Here's our situation:

Local Office run with SME 7.2 as Server-Gateway mode, Static Public IP.
Remote office run a Belkin F5D7230 router and a cpl of Workstations.

We need to set a VPN in order to share devices/app. within LAN's.

First thought was run an SME box in the remote office and link them together with OpenVPN, but for the moment this is not an option.

Browsing the forms notice that many users add external routers at both sides for the VPN. We are trying not to set a router in front of the SME side.

Anyone has experience with some router with VPN that can link the SME directly?

All thoughts are welcome.

Thanks,
Seb

I am trying to do the same.

It looks possible using IPSec if you have a static IP on each end. I am currently trying to get two SME servers to VPN into each other using OpenVPN.

I'll update the other thread if I am successful.
