Title: email upgrade from SUSE email server II
Post by: Brad Jennings on April 06, 2002, 01:50:39 AM
Any thoughts / suggestions on upgrading our email server to SME.  We are currently using SuSE's email server 2 which has been wonderful.  But after looking at Dan Brown's upgrades and playing with SME, I would really like to switch.  By the way....Dan Brown's site for upgrading to Imp 3 worked wonderfully.  Anyways, my question is ....is there any easy way to get my usernames and passwords off of the SuSE server and onto an SME server......or will I just have to suck it up and put in everyone again.  Thanks for any suggestions

I may be speaking out of turn, but my recommendation would be to just "suck it up" as you state in your original message. There are just too many things going on when a new user is created on the SME box to try and migrate everyone.

Maybe a good bet would be to see if you can export a list of the current users to a text file and follow the howto for batch adding users from Darrell May's website.
Might save a little time.

Just my 2 cents.
