Title: Password Protecting Directory
Post by: thansen on January 08, 2008, 10:41:56 PM
Anyone have a step-by-step on password protecting a directory?
It might be in the forms but it is not to be found with the keywords "password protecting directory" and should be so others could find it. Thanks everyone, a really appreciate this server and have contributed.  :???:

AFAIK you can only protect ibays. Use the Server Manager to create a new ibay and then assign appropriate security.

If you mean for web access then see
http://wiki.contribs.org/Htaccess

A lot of answers have already been provided, but you need to read all the Howtos & Contribs articles & FAQ & Tech manual

Had no luck finding information about password protecting a directory in any of the above references.
I need to protect one directory in an ibay, not the whole ibay.
It is the administration section of a website.

I suggest you re-read
http://wiki.contribs.org/Htaccess
slowly and carefully.
