Hi Just set up an sme 7.2 server+gateway:
I'm totally stuck here when I installed dansguardian I cannot download any attachments in yahoo.
I already edited the exceptionlist to allow .xls and .doc
when I check the logfile it have this error:

did you restart dansguardian after the modifications?
It seems that the file to be modificated is bannedmimetypelist and exceptionmimetypelist

That's because yahoo redirects you to another server as you can see the 68.XX.XX (very bad).
I had the same problem and did not find a solution.
About exempting .xls and .docs, which I did not go there, do a signal-event dansguardian-reload after you make modifications.

yes I restarted it and also edited mime and site exceptionlist to allow .xls,.doc, and mail.yahoo.com.

so I have installed:
dansguardian.i386 2.9.9.2-1.el4.sme
smeserver-dansguardian.noarch 2.9-3.el4.sme
in a 7.2 box
stuntshell:
can't find dansguardian-reload but I restarted it after I made the modifications

Do you get a dansguardian generated error message in your browser, if so what ?

Read the wiki and followed it. And reviewed all 3 how-tos and found no difference in the configuration part except for the installation part.
there was no generated error message shown. when I click the download file all I see the progress bar moving but no pop messages to confirm to download the said file.
this get the same report tcp_denied/403
same error
I have not configured any authentication login.

So what makes you think dansguardian is the problem ?
If you disable dansguardian (& disable port blocking & reset Transparent Proxy & any other dansguardian settings) are you able to download then ?

Yes i can download the attachement when I connect to another sme server running without dansguardian.

After resting and doing a fresh install and editing it is now working. Just edited the bannedextensionlist and exceptionlis. I might have missed something being pressured to have it running.. Thanks guys..

good day guys, i beleive i solved this dilema.
you have to edit each bannedextensionlist for each profile, wether child, teen,preten, adult. going to ect/dansguardian/simple/(profile).
i did it and worked beautifully.

Good! But I think what you have done is allowed ANY user download the files from ANY site, not only Yahoo!
