Hope someone can help. I'm running a win2k laptop that refuses to see the SME server at all. For wrok reasons, I can't join the lapptop to the windows workgroup the server runs (it would nuke the current domain settings), but previously I've always been able to join other networks by plugging in then searching for computers.
I can ping the server and pther machines on the network, and even access the server manager console on the browser, but I can't find the server in my Network Neighbourhood. Getting rather confused as the hours drag on.....;)

FWIW,
I have a similar setup and have never been able to 'see' the sme box via browsing, but can map drives by typing in the server name/samba share info (eg. //e-smith/kids).
