Hi
When using Outlook Email client it provides a Junk E-mail Folder in each user account.
I just wish to use the SME .junkmail folder provided by the server
Having two folders (.junkmail and Junk -E mail) is confusing for the users.
I am using IMAP Mail accounts on my clients
Question: Is it possible to completely remove this Outlook Junk E-mail folder?
I know it is possible to prevent it being used under -Tools -Options -Preferences -Junk Email but I want to completely remove it.
Thanks Craig

IMO this is an outlook issue, not a sme's one..

Well, the OP posted in the General Discussion forum which is not SME related only.
I'm also interested if someone knows the answer to this.

I have spent may hours trying to find out if it can be . It looks like it can't.
But if any one has a fix that would be great.
Thanks

I have not found a way to change the junkmail folder, but I symlinked one to the other so they each contain the same, this way it does not matter to which one you drag this. I have only tested this with Thunderbird, I do not know if this method is successful with other mail clients.
[root@homer Maildir]# ll .INBOX.junkmail
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 10 Nov 27 2006 .INBOX.junkmail -> .junkmail/
If you are using a IMAP server you can perhaps cancel subscription to one after synlinking them, which leaves you with only one junkmail folder in the mail client.

This works great. Sometimes the simple things.
I tried it on outlook 2003 on multiple computers with the same user account. works fine
tried it on windows mail. works fine.
tried on outlook express. works fine
Outlook 2007 ?
Tested spam still goes to the symbolic linked dir. works fine.
:-P  :-P
