Title: Externally-sourced calendar appointments
Post by: ddougan on February 21, 2008, 02:03:33 AM
This is a bit of a shot in the dark, but has anything changed recently in the distro that would now permit external email containing a calendar appointment to display correctly in the email client (Outlook, in this case), showing the Accept, Decline, etc. buttons?

One of my clients' staff members, an engineer, is adamant that up till recently, such externally-sourced appointments displayed as emails without the ability to accept, etc. The client has not updated software on the desktop, but I have been applying the various server updates over time.

Thanks for any ideas....

That ability has been there for a long time but before 7.1.1 you must disable tnef2mime for it to work. In 7.1.1 the tnef2mime converter was updated.  See this bug for background:

Paul,

Thanks for the information. I wasn't aware of the issue previously (the client never mentioned it before); it's good that it's been resolved as unfortunately Outlook is almost universally used. I do wish there was a more broadly-available alternative!!

Many thanks for getting back to me.
