Title: Blocking Specific Attachment types being sent
Post by: trystnw on February 22, 2008, 07:11:53 AM
Hi

I have SME Server configured as a gateway and as a proxy server with web filtering (Dans Guardian). The users use thunderbird and the email is hosted on yahoo SBS. Is it possible to prevent users from attaching and sending out specific file types from thunderbird? .

Thanks

Do you have executable content/pattern matching blocking enabled in server manager Email panel ?
This will block the file types you enable.
You can add other specific file types if you create the db pattern, see this old Howto which is still applicable, although the functionality is now a standard part of sme 7.x.

Look for the section titled
