Title: Help! How reinstall SME without losing my DATAs!!!

Hi,

During the upgrade, something turn wrong and I am unable to get my data on SME server via my XP box (Explorer).  Is there a way to get my data back.  If I try to reinstall SME, SME will erase the disk!!!.

Do a CD install but select the upgrade option, assuming that will be presented to you.

Hi RayMitchell:

I tried the upgrade option with the cd "ver 7.1"... But nothing has changed... It seems like the system stays at ver 7.2.  There seems no return back option.

There is no downgrade option that I'm aware of.

You will need to use a sme7.3 CD, and try upgrading your system, using the upgrade option.
Hopefully the upgrade will fix your system and allow it to run correctly.

I have an info:

When I booted I had an unusual message at the line Squid.  Looks like
squid: appletalk cannot be found.

All this mean nothing for me....


I still downloading ver 7.3.

Now I have finish the update to ver 7.3.  Everything seems ok but with my XP Box, I can't logon to my SME server with Explorer.

With Putty I cant see my data on SME server.

How to fix so Explorer can browse SME server again? :?

Have you do this? :
- use web browser go to http://<yourSMEserverIP>/server-manager
- login as admin

Hi Thomasch,

- use web browser go to http://<yourSMEserverIP>/server-manager : Yes.
- login as admin: yes --> with Putty but not with Explorer.

Now Appletalk seems to be fix 8)

... but Explorer doesn't see SME server. :?
