what do you mean you want to enable "checkspelling" ? Where / how do you want the "checkspelling" to work?

I assume that you mean mod_speling. No, there is no way to enable checkspelling with db commands. mod_speling is not loaded in the apache configuration. You would need to add a contrib or use a custom template to enable it.

Let's ask Google - linuxhelp asked about "checkspelling" and "httpd", so let's ask google:

http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=checkspelling+httpd&

or just (if we are feeling lucky):

http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=checkspelling+httpd&btnI=745
