I have been looking into using NFS to expand the internal netwok storage capability of the users directory for my small network. I read the NIS how-to in the contribs and it mentions a NFS how-to but I cannot find it . I did find rpms dated from 6-01 in Gordon Rowell contribs but no other info. Any pointer in the right direction would be appreciated.

There really isn't much to say. Install nfs, and configure /etc/exports. Any nfs reference on the internet will do for that.

Having installed NFS on a v6 box, I seem to remember needing the portmapper as well as the nfs rpms (standard RedHat v7 rpms were fine from rpmfind.net). You also need to alter your /etc/hosts.allow (and it's e-smith equivalent) to let local clients use portmap. Once it is working, you also need to create links to start the portmapper and nfs daemons in (from memory) rc7.d.
