Title: NOOB question about CLAMAV upgrading
Post by: jcmcgee1969 on March 01, 2008, 12:28:50 PM
I have downloaded the latest Clam Av engine onto my laptop, but I do not know where to place the file on my SME server, or how to install it with YUM once I have placed it on my SME server.  I would appreciate any help you can give me. I am very new to Linux so baby step instructions are appreciated.  Thank you so much.

The name of the file is:clamav-0.92.1.tar.gz

I don't know where to place the file and i think you can't install a .tar.gz file with yum...but why do you want to upgrade ClamAV manually?
You can see the installed version in the server-manager. On my Server I can see this:
Quote
0.92/6062/Sat Mar 1 05:56:21 2008
Therefore I would say the version you want to install is already installed. And the virus signatures are updated automatically.
