Title: Missing RPMs on Affaserver compared with fileserver1
Post by: the-heck on March 18, 2008, 07:00:03 AM

*
* The following packages are installed on both,
* the source 192.168.1.7 and on this backup host,
* but the version does not match:
*
gpg-pubkey-6b8d79e6-3f49313d
kernel-smp-2.6.9-67.0.4.EL
kernel-2.6.9-67.0.1.EL

What should I do with this?

You mean to update SMESERVER?  I did the software installer update.. the system is up-to-date.  Where do I need to update?

I assume you have two servers, the server being backed up (192.168.1.7) and the affa backup server.
ie "the source 192.168.1.7 and on this backup host"

I assume you keep your main sme server up to date, so you also need to update the other backup sme server that is running affa.

Yes, both sme servers are showing system is up-to-date.

What else to update?  Thanks for your support.

You can manually check (& compare) the versions on both servers with
rpm -q packagename

Check the kernel version you are running on each machine with
uname -r

This is the result. Kernel looks the same.  The GPG-keys are different.  Aren't this correct?

The GPG-keys are different.
The lists are not different as a sort and diff would show you
Generally:
- ignore all gpg-pubkey RPMs
- don't worry if the backup server installation (SME distro RPMs) is newer. A --rise will work
- worry about contribs RPMs not installed or of different version on the backup server.
- don't let Affa generate the Affa RPM comparison list if you don't plan  a --rise (set RPMCheck='no'), or just ignore the list.

  thank you very much!  I got it all clear now.

AFFA Backup is really amazing!
Just a short story....3 days ago, one user have deleted precious folders/files (unintentional?). So I have to restore several folders with almost 70GB of data.  Affa did it in a blink!

Great contrib!!  Bravo!! :pint:
