Hello.
I wanted to ask a question about shares versus I-Bays. I wanted to have for my admin. account a share for some already established directories so I could access data from my W2k workstation. I thought the I-Bay was used for that, but it looks like I-bays set up new directories when created. That won't work for me. Can I set up a Samba share with a template? what template would I need to alter to make for instance a smb share at say /etc/e-smith/custom-templates/smb.conf ? This is for a home network, so Im not as worried about security as if I were at work.

I just created a share called documents, totally expecting the usual folders: cgi-bin,files,html.
Since I did not need this to act as a development domain (I always name my dev projects *.dev and enable dynamic content, accessible to the entire internet, etc.) I did not make it accessible to the entire internet.
Set this: Public access via web or anonymous ftp: to NONE
You have what you want - if I understand you correctly.
Cheers
