Title: Remote shell
Post by: tention on April 05, 2008, 09:58:37 AM
Hello community,

i want to remote access the linux-shell from a win-pc. Which options do i have? Which programs to take? Which configurations to make?

Tried already to use vnc, but i always get a 'connection refused (10061)' error when trying to logon the sme server. I have installed vnc and xauth and started vncserver.

Can someone help me please... i am new to linux and sme also...

best regards... tention

Go to the Server Manager and activate SSH access.

And use PuTTY (you can download it here (http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/putty/download.html)) to access your server.

You will probably find winSCP useful for any file transferring you need to do.
