Hi all,
I try to install a TDM410P on a Primergy TX150 S4. I am running Asterisk 1.4.18.1 and Sail 606.
I get "No Telephony Boards found" when i probe the card.
lspci output is:

Yes indeed,
Apologies, Digium have changed over to the voicebus technology on this card (like the 800 and 2400) so it no longer uses the TDM driver. This means we'll have to change some code.
I am guessing that this will take a day or two. Once again, apologies.
If your machine is accesible from the web and you can open it up to us then we'll happily work directly on your box. I don't have a 410 here but we can get one on Tuesday.
For the moment SAIL won't recognise this card.
Could you also show us the output from dmesg please?
Send it to admin@selintra.com
Also if you want us to work on your system directly then send login details to admin@selintra.com
Thankyou

This almost certainly bcause of the fingerprint record we gave you last week.
It needs to change (it does change in the update but it won't update the one you had changed - if that makes sense).
Do...
db selintra-work setprop pci:d161:8005:d161:8005 probe wctdm24xxp

Thanks, that looks ok. I will test it next week ...

OK, this tells me that the modporbe does not appear to be working correctly.
Here is what happens in the PCI module....
First it will look in lspci for cards it recognises. Then it will issue a modprobe for those cards based upon what it has in its database. Then it waits for a little while for UDEV to build the device tree. Now it begins its second phase by reading the files in /proc/zaptel. From these it begins to construct the necessary data structures to generate zaptel and zapata files.
so...
You need to follow this through manually to see why it is failing...
Our tdm410PF test board here works fine so there is something not quite right with your system (probably our fault :) ).
shutdown asterisk
/etc/init.d/sark stop
check that all of the zaptel modules have been unloaded by using lsmod...
lsmod
If any zaptel modules ae still present, unload them manually with
rmmod {modulename}
Ok... lets begin.
modprobe wctdm24xxp
this should load wctdm24xxp, and zaptel. Check with lsmod that they have loaded OK.
If you get any error messages tell us.
If you get no error messages then do..
cat /proc/zaptel/*
If all has gone OK, you should see something like this...
[root@test73 ~]# cat /proc/zaptel/*

I can't help if you don't supply the information I request.
It's almost certain you have a module mis-match somewhere. This is why I need to know which asterisk rpms you are running as well as the kernel release. We are running our tdm410P here without problems. So...
Back to first principles which rpms are you running for asterisk ? What does "uname -r" show? what does "rpm -qa | grep zaptel" show?
Thankyou

Hi,
Sorry, it is working now. The first problem on my friends server was a bad installation and on my own server i had to change the
impedances for my country. After the change in /etc/init.d/sark the inbound via TDM is working .
Thank you for your help, when i finish the work on my first asterisk-costumer i like to donate to you.

Hi Guys - especially Selintra
Sorry to wake up an old thread
I believe the TDM800P is very similar to the TDM400P
I've tried all the instrucations here but no go.....
uname -r
2.6.9-67.0.20.EL
Asterisk version
sail-2.2.1-617
I have confused myself seriously now
Does the TDM800P (Populated with 2 FXO 4 port modules) use the wctdm or the wctdm24xxp driver?
I can get the card visible in the PCI Probe under both, but no trunk lines are created..
I am a bit of a noob here (have set up a test trixbox), but would like to get this running on the SARK
Urgent help/advice will be greatly appreciated.
-
The TDM800 was not supported until -626
U[grade SAIL and you should be good to go.
Suggest you go up to -640
As an aside, the tdm800 is quite different to the tdm400 and uses different drivers (as you'd guessed). The TDM410 is it's 4 port equivalent.

What I have found out so far.
The tdm800p uses the wctdm24xxp driver
I can get the server to see the card in PCI Probe.
The problem however is that, that is where it stops.
Trying to narrow down the problem - it seems that modprobe is not loading the driver at startup
If I run modprobe wctdm24xxp - it see the card
If I do not run this - the card is not recognised.
The problem is that when you commit your changes - the wctdm24xxp is unloaded.
As such the is no info in the card info screen
I have run the latest yum updates and sail is still only on 617.
How would I go about taking it to 640 like you suggest.
Much appreciated
-
OK - I found the RPM - busy installing now
Will let you know

SAIL is recognising your card just fine. The problem you have is that you have installed kernel drivers for 2.6.9-67.0.1 but you have yum upgraded your kernel to 2.6.9-78.0.1
Look here...
root@bwfserver ~]# uname -r
2.6.9-78.0.1.EL
[root@bwfserver ~]# rpm -qa | grep zaptel
warning: only V3 signatures can be verified, skipping V4 signature (note x3)

zaptel-kmdl-2.6.9-67.0.1.ELsmp-1.4.9.2-48.el4
warning: only V3 signatures can be verified, skipping V4 signature (note x 1)
zaptel-kmdl-2.6.9-67.0.1.EL-1.4.9.2-48.el4
uname -r is showing 2.6.9-78.0.1 while you have kmdl rpms for 2.6.9-67.0.1
SAIL is asking for the correct driver to be loaded into the kernel but you do not have a driver installed for 72.0.1
so - you must install the 78.0.1 driver rpms...
yum install zaptel-kmdl-`uname -r` --enablerepo=atrpms
Then you must remove ztdummy
rmmod ztdummy
db selintra-work setprop ztdummy status NO
db selintra setprop ztdummy status NO
Then you can run your probe again.
Kind Regards
-
I have tried the Yum and it comes up with
Error: Missing Dependency: zaptel = 1:1.4.9.2-48.el4 is needed by package zaptel-kmdl-2.6.9-67.0.1.EL
I know for those who are good at linux would be able to solve this in minutes, but I have seached for a solution for several hours and come up blank. Also I have tried a few things that I have read on the web and it hasn't helped.
I may have dug myself a deeper hole.
If this is a simple issue I would appreciate some guidance otherwise I will backup my data files and do a new sark install. The irony here is that the fresh install may even be the quicker option.
Kind Regards
Brian
-
There is an expression that goes -
When you find yourself in a hole - STOP digging!
I'm now past the point of no return (for me at least) - am now re-installing from scratch.
At least this way I will be back to a completley standard install.
Regards
Brian
-
I have now completed a fresh install.
This then recognised the card but would go no further - ie I could see the channels in the server manager but could not use them.
I then updated the whole thing using server manager. This then took me back to where I started. The system did not recognise the card at all.
Error: Missing Dependency: zaptel = 1:1.4.9.2-48.el4 is needed by package zaptel-kmdl-2.6.9-67.0.1.EL
this may be caused by the following line in the update manager.

Also on this site I read that the TDM410 needs a later version of SAIL than the 617 currently installed- do i need to install a later rpm? Which version is recomended ?
If so, do I need to put file into any particular directory before installing via YUM ?
-
System now working with TDM 410
Brief steps undertaken -
fresh install from version sme-sail-617 iso
update server from console manager (card no longer recognised)
log into server and download sail-640 & latest zaptel drivers
yum localinstall sail-version
yum install gcc
yum install kernal-devel
configure, make & install latest zaptel drivers
reboot
in server-manager - probe card, stop card, start card
done. :-)
extensions do not show up in operator panel on my system. :?

Hi there
What you have done will work but it isn't recommended. In general it isn't a good idea to install a dev environment (which is what you've effectively done) onto SME, at least not onto a production box.
The rpms do work, all you had to do was to remove zaptel and zaptel-kmdl before reinstalling them (which would pick up the latest kernal versions).
I was working on a script for you but since you are now running, I will turn it into a yum upgrade howto for the wiki because it is confusing. However, I really don't advise/recommend running a dev environment on a production box.
ZAP extensions don't show up in operator panel. You are correct, they don't at the moment. It is something that we are looking at and will address in the next few releases.
Kind Regards

Thanks for the advice.
I will remove gcc and kernal-dev - They were only installed because i did not know any other way to install new zaptel drivers.
Thankyou once again.
Regards

hi guys hope you can help
i am using sme 7.4 with asterisk/freepbx installed. i have a tdm410p and fxo board in my server (running in server/gateway mode with 2 nics)
my problem is that i have 2 softphones installed on 2 windowz xp boxes and they are reconised by the extensions i created. i cannot make or receive any outside calls. when my sme 7.4 server boots i can see that it loads the dahdi tools and drivers. how can i see if my tdm410p is recognised by the freepbx server
any help greatly appreciated
