Title: FTP documentation? (uploading?)

Hi all.

The most frustrating issue I've had has been the ftp in 5.1.2
It should not be so difficult to to find a simple solution to enabling the following:

1)setting permissions for users
2)enabling uploading.

I've scoured the boards, and have only have found hacks and misguided information.

If anyone would be able to direct me to some decent documentation, or would be willing to take the time to write out the instructions in laymen's term, I would honestly appreciate more than wonderbread.........yes I said it. WONDERBREAD.

I have had the same problem and have been asking for help also with no avail. I don't know why no one is acknowledging. I have had people say that they are having the same problems. But I'm not sure if this is a problem with the ftp in 5.1.2 or in just a few. Im not sure if many people are using ftp in 5.1.2.  Can some people just give us some feedback on if they are not having any problems. And that theirs is working properly.

The user manual is a good place to start.  Have a look at the remote access section:

No, unfortunately neither of those manuals help because they do not address the issues of individual permissions and uploading.

What are you trying to achive?

You can create user groups that have access to certain ibays.  If you open up your FTP server in the remote access section, all of your users can then login, but they only have write access to their home directory.  You can then set up ibays that are writeable to user groups.
