Title: Unison file synchronisation
Post by: ReetP on April 22, 2008, 06:36:12 PM
I have been experimenting with this recently as it suits a few odd requirements that I have. I know that it is no longer under active development but the latest version is 2.27.57 which was released in Jan 2008

I notice that somone (peterw at OFOST) made a few RPMs for SME 4.1.2 (E-smith) & SME 5 and I wanted to get hold of them to have a look at what they contained and how to do a few things - I guessed it would be easier than reinventing the wheel.

They were originally as follows (discovered from web.archive.org - http://web.archive.org/web/20031214162359/www.ifost.org.au/~peterw/ )

http://www.ifost.org.au/~peterw/unison-2.7.7-2.i386.rpm
http://www.ifost.org.au/~peterw/unison-manager-0.2-1.noarch.rpm
http://www.ifost.org.au/~peterw/ssh-keys-0.1.1-1.noarch.rpm

I tried the links to download from the webarchive but if I try to open the files I get an error : 'Inconsistent extfs archive' which I guess means the file is screwed as it is not held correctly at webarchive.

Does anyone have any of these files 'lurking' about someplace ? I have compiled a running version of unison 2.27.57 on my 7.3 server which seems to run well. I just wanted to have a look at some of the automation scripts etc and will happily contribute any of my stuff back again if anyone is interested - I'm no programming guru but I'll do what I can - e.g I wanted to try and make my own RPM to install on the machines I require it to run on for convenience.

Any help gratefully appreciated !

Best regards
John
