After a long battle, i made a clean installation of SME server 7.3 and i configured again my 20 mail accounts, now i can send and receive mails but now i got a new problem. The problem is that when i send a mail to a hotmail account, the mail never arrived to the hotmail account. Although i have contracted a managed mail in (NO-IP) Alternate-PORT SMTP, i don't know how to configure it in SME server.
I hope You really can help me to fix this problem.
Thank u

Delegate your mail handling to your ISP mail server.
BTW, use the search function please!

Hi Normando i'm very new in this Linux environment so how can i manipulate my ISP mail server(graficabiblos.com)

I'm not sure I understand everything you said, but a couple of questions:
1. Can you send emails to internal email addresses?
2. Is your server configured as "Private Server and Gateway" ?

i found a solution for my problem, i looked up for information in the no-ip web page about how to use Alternate-port SMTP ....so that's it

I have this issue as well, for some reason now when email is sent from my e-smith server to any hotmail account they are never received. It's like hotmail are rejecting them but nothing is delivered back to the e-smith mail server.

hi....
it's true that Hotmail closes some ports but if you contract Alternate port-SMTP for your server you can solve the problem as chydalgo did it.
:-P bye

If you have your server at home, most likely you have dynamic IP. Many email services, including hotmail, reject email coming from dynamic IP's to combat spam, since most spam comes from these type of servers. To fix this, forward you email through your ISP mail server. I had exact same problem, now that I forward my email through my ISP mail server, I have no problems at all.
You can set this in server-manager/ Configuration/ E-mail.

Hi Guys,
I have read the posts and i don't really agree with the solutions, i.e. using your upstream ISP to forward mail through. I have my e-smith server on a static ip address but still hotmail accounts don't receive emails sent from it, has something changed in the communication sendmail uses?

You probably need to setup SPF records and reverse DNS lookup records for your domains, and then hotmail and others will happily accept mail from you.
Search here and google as answered before.
