Title: vpn service provider.
Post by: tropicalview on April 29, 2008, 07:55:45 PM
Hi,

I would like to make use of a internet provider that does not support public ip addresses.
to be accessable from the outside world i would like to make use of a vpn provider like stronvpn (www.strongvpn.com)

to do so i need to set up the following:

-> VPN client
-> VPN client connect at bootup.
-> treat the vpn ip address as a external ip address but not to route all internet traffic trough it.
-> make it possible to connect the VOIP connections from the installed freepbx trough the vpn.

Who can help me with this setup or partly?>

Kind regards,

I doubt if that will work as, at first glance, they do not seem to have a linux client available.

Are you sure your provider is preventing your ip from being accessed from the internet? IMHO you should not be able to internet at all as all packages send to you will be dropped and the data send back after your request to a webserver would never reach you.
