Title: Primary Ibay
Post by: RoryS on May 07, 2008, 03:53:42 PM
Good Day All,

I cannot find any answers to the following problem:

I installed a new server and then restored the backup from the old server.

After the reboot if I go to Informations Bays in the Server-Manager the Primary ibay is missing.

Can someone help to revive the Primary Ibay

Regards

I did notice this message:

May  7 16:36:42 xxxxxxx  httpd: PHP Warning:  mysql_connect(): Access denied for user 'root'@'localhost' (using password: YES) in /home/e-smith/files/ibays/Primary/html/manager/config.php on line 6

What software did you use to make/restore the backup? If this was stock SME Server software you should report it to the bugtracker.

That error message came up in a post yesterday. This was a somewhat different problem so I don't know if the error indicates the same thing. You might research a bit.

See Byte's post toward the bottom

If the backup was not done with SME software you may have file ownership and permissions problems.

Thanks for the help so far. It is appreciated...

I have followed the directions in resetting the password and root user for mySQL but get the following error when trying to view the web page.

Could not connect : Access denied for user 'root'@'localhost' (using password: YES)

I did manage to get to see the Primary ibay in the server-manager, but there are setting available. If I try access the web site from the internet the site does not load and times out.

Thanks

Just to add about the back up.

This was done using the SME desktop backup and I restored using the web interface--from the panel

It sounds to me like it is BUG time. You will catch the Devs attention there.
