Title: PHP Version
Post by: Mick Spice on April 25, 2002, 03:10:09 AM
As a newbie, I have SME 5.1.2 and I have applied the 'update 1' blade. I was under the impression that this brought PHP up to a 4.1.* version. However the info returned by phpoptions() gives 4.0.6

Is this right, if not how do I fix it

TIA

The PHP update for SME, 'Update 1,' does not actually update the version of PHP.  It fixes a recently discovered security vunlnerability.  If you would like to actually update the version of PHP to a newer one, the HOW-TO section has an article covering this.

Actually, Dev, Update 1 does upgrade PHP--to 4.0.6 (the previous version was 4.0.4pl1), plus security patches.

Thanks for the info.
I am not unduly bothered about having the latest version, I prefer to go with something that is stable....
