Title: Fail event and replacing disk while server operational.
Post by: Peasant on May 21, 2008, 11:56:43 PM

I posted a bug earlier on this week where a newish server went into a reboot loop. The bug was closed today as it was decided to be a hardware problem, which has now been proved correct, as I've a now got a fail event on sdb2.

I am meaning to replace the disk tomorrow, but would like to know if it is OK to allow users to continue using the server while the new disk syncs up, or am I better to let it do it during a quiet time?

Cheers.

It is OK and expected that you would use the system while it is resyncing.

That's great, thanks.
