Title: I don't want https access to email!!!
Post by: svetlo56 on June 03, 2008, 10:01:20 PM
My local network has the https port (I think it was port 443) forwarded to one of my computers (not one with the SME sever) on which sslexplorer is installed. Whenever I try to reach webmail on my SME server, I get redirected to sslexplorer which of course has no idea what webmail is. So I am stuck. Can I disable https access to my webmail and use just http? I do not like having been forced to use https for webmail.  Please.

Any advice?

All this is confusing, so I solved this in a simple way, by changing the router setup so the xxxx external port gets redirected to SME server's port 443. So I have to enter https://mydomain.com:xxxx/webmail

Good enough, more safe and no modifications to SME server. Extra typing notwithstanding, I put it in on my home page as clickable URL.
