Post by: Brave Dave on June 09, 2008, 09:57:00 AM
Dell sell a Dell(TM) PowerEdge(TM) T105 Server (It's about their cheapest server)

based on the AMD Dual Core Opteron

is anyone using these ?

I've used the SC440 Server which is excellent

T105 with 2 500Gb drives and an Intel PCI nic added, works like a charm and about the cheapest bulletproof name brand Server setup for SME. Runs 7.3 out of the box, the inbuilt NIC is recognised without problems unlike some SC440's.

I've built several of T105 SME boxes and they have all been flawless.  Watch the special and you can get T105's delivered in basic configuration for under $400AU, with 1Gb of RAM, add a supported NIC and a pair of decent sized SATA HDD's and still have change from $550.00.

Thanks good to have the feedback - and good to have a cheap out of the box option
