Title: [update] sme7admin, would need some testers
Post by: Daniel B. on June 18, 2008, 06:19:50 PM
Hi everyone.

I've just uploaded an updated release of sme7admin. It's just a maintenance release, mainly to make sme7admin compatible with the latest rrdtool (1.2). There'are also some fix, like the status of the services.
I'd like to have some feedback before I push it into smecontribs repo (I've tested on 4 servers without problem).
If you want to test it:

Code: [Select]
wget http://sme.firewall-services.com/downloads/sme7admin/rpms/smeserver-sme7admin-1.1.0-3.noarch.rpm
yum --enablerepo=smecontribs localinstall smeserver-sme7admin-1.1.0-3.noarch.rpm
/etc/init.d/mysql.init restart
/etc/init.d/sme7admind restart

Cheers, daniel

[edit] restart mysql.init and sme7admind after the install [/edit]

Hi,

Just tried to load it on my test server (old PC hardware) Base 7.3 install with all current updates. Install failed with the following message:

Code: [Select]
Processing Dependency: hddtemp for package: smeserver-sme7admin
--> Finished Dependency Resolution
Error: Missing Dependency: hddtemp is needed by package smeserver-sme7admin

you need hddtemp to run sme7admin (it was the same for the older release). You can find one on dag repository http://dag.wieers.com/rpm/packages/hddtemp/hddtemp-0.3-0.beta15.1.el4.rf.i386.rpm or on our website (a bit older) http://sme.firewall-services.com/downloads/sme7admin/rpms/hddtemp-0.3-0.beta12.2.2.el4.rf.i386.rpm

VIP-ire,

I am off and running.

I have hit an error though.

Where do you want bug reports? (I can post the log here if you want, or open a report.)

Here is the bug. I may have just been too impatient. (My wife would tell you this is normal) I seem to know have data in sme7Admin.

I have an sme server running vmware with 3 smeserver's installed on top in server only mode. I have updated it and installed sme7admin. It is working except for the hardware sensors. I will post anything new to the bug report as above.

looking good.

Has anyone found a more modern version of lm_sensors too? the one we have by default looks a little old (2.8.7) where as the current version is 3.02 and may work with my board.

Thanks for the feedback. A new release is ready with some minor bugs corrections:

http://sme.firewall-services.com/downloads/sme7admin/rpms/smeserver-sme7admin-1.1.0-4.noarch.rpm

It should be soon available in smecontribs repository.

Cheers.

Hi I just installed 1.1.0.4 over my old instal 1.1.0.1 but now I dont get any e-mails. This is the log:

Locale:en_US
MailDomainsMatch = *******.***
readConf() OK !
DBI connect('','',...) failed: Access denied for user 'root'@'localhost' (using password: YES) at /usr/bin/sme7admind line 264
MYSQL error Access denied for user 'root'@'localhost' (using password: YES)
Can't call method "prepare" on an undefined value at /usr/bin/sme7admind line 771.

I didn't change my mysql password. Any idea's how to fix this?

Please, open a bug report (put my adress in CC: daniel AT firewall-services DOT com) and explain exactly how you have upgraded (rpm, yum? any error after the install ...)
