What is the best way to change the logo for a joomla website in the sme /opt/joomla directory?
have tried ftp but cant get to this directory using ftp
can get there using putty but i want to copy things to client and not sure how to do it using putty.
have not transfered/ copied files using ftp before but it seems straight forward enough it is just that i cant find the file using ftp login remotely. - Is it hidden?
if there is a how to about the opt/joomla installation folder and files can you point to it!
-
Probably /opt/joomla/images
Use WinSCP.
-
i can use gftp and see the folders (primary, samba, users) on the server but cant get into /opt/jjoomla/
or
/opt/
it says there are no such directories!
-
Should work with sFTP or SCP protocol and user root.
Apart from FTP, does it give you SSH as an option?
-
can log in as admin but
root says not connected:
login needed for root
and
login incorrect
i am sure that i am typing the password correctly
-
Remoteaccess in server-manager. Is SSH enabled?
-
ok
have finally got into it
chaged the protocol from ftp to ssh2 and it works
i cna see the joomla folder in the opt directory
-
ok have got gftp working well
can transfer images from server template in the joomla folder to client desktop.
am now going to edit them using gimp and transfer them back
then change teh css url reference using the template editor
thanks for help

A wonderful tool for managing files on the SME is WinSCP
Search for it in Google - I cannot live without it

And for Linux users what do you suggest. :-)

Filezilla works SSH too (somebody here mentioned that when I sugested WinSCP)
We have been using it for Joomla images.
Filezilla is available on Linux.
