Title: fetch mail + cron
Post by: groyk on June 28, 2008, 07:25:25 PM
Hi

I have set up a fetch mail rule in the web mail for one of my users. (SME 7,3)

But how do I get this fetch mail running ex. every 15 min. or so.?

It would be great if it was possible to set up an fetch interval in the web mail.  :P

You don't.  In webmail you set up the accounts you want to fetch from, then you have to manually invoke it.

Yes I know.

But most of the time I am working on a workstation and using Outlook through IMAP. Then I want my SME box to automatcly check all my hosted emails ex. every 15 min. or so. Just like Gmail.

I think this is what you want.

To begin with I thought so too.

But when I am trying to install i am getting following message

Existing lock /var/run/yum.pid: another copy is running. Aborting.

I expect it is because it is in the core app on SME 7,3. But it is not possible to setup time interval for recieving.

I guess you have some stale yum processes lying around. To clean the up execute a reboot, wait a few minutes for th eupdate check to finish and then try again.

Hi Cactus

Thank you, now it works.

But why are every email received twice?

Found it!! I was forwarding to the same address as I was receiving to!!  :? - Stupid me!

I think it was a failure because of my poor English!  :-(
