Title: hylafax web interface

I´ve been helping one user to put a modem to work with hylafax (that´s your jaffer!) and remember a old dream: to have a NICE web interface to my hylafax. Today I modify faxrcvd script to put .pdf files inside an ibay. Works but isn´t COOL!

So I searched for web interfaces here ( http://www.hylafax.org/content/Web_Based_Faxing ) and disocvered some are REALLY COOL... I like movifax and avantfax.
But cannot get none of them to work.

So I ask... have someone changed one to work with SME ? Even another one.
If nobody have done it, movinfo seems to be easy (have a install script could be changed)... I changed apache user from apache to www, destination to opt/fax ... but I stop there... cannot move forward. Can someone help ?

I am just into the setting of hylafax. it is not very simple...

AvantFax looks really great but it is in PHP5 so it is out of question before some time

I found this at least to get an interface to set up Hylafax.

Not true... I think it´s easy... and can help you if you need.
Most problems are in to configure modem. That get a lot easier with external modem.
Use minicom to diagnose if your modem works. later start to install Hylafax.

Not REALLY true... there are HowTos about how to use PHP5 inside a share. Search for this on wiki or here in forums.

Yes, definitly this is the SME way to do (SMERP). Works great... easy setup.


I have problems to have a WEB interface to view received faxes, forward/delete/print them and even send a TXT/PDF/PS/TIFF fax from web.
This would be done by AvantFAX or MoviFAX. I´ll try to get one of them working if nobody here has done this before.

I am afraid I am not qualified enough to help. but I will follow this with attention.
