I have searched through the forum and cant find a way to add SME Server 7.3 to a Windows Domain, has anybody done this??
The reason is the SME Server is our file server, and I need to map drives

it's a bit old how-to.. you'd bettere test it and if it works, let us know

This is not as easy as it sounds, having errors with krb5 integration and kerberos...
Will persevere and see what I can come up with, if anybody has any suggestion it will help.. :shock:

If you only need to map drives, I don't see why just having the "Workgroup" name in Server Manager "Workgroup" panel be the name of the domain you want to be in wouldn't work for you. The domain clients should see the server and map to it OK.
I have an old Win NT domain running and acting as the domain controller. I have several SME 7.3 boxes on this domain, some as test boxes, and the Windows client machines on the domain can see the SME ibays and map to them. I have the SME server Workgroup name=Win NT domain name.
For just shares does it have to be a part of the Windows Domain? I am willing to be taught too. I think I am missing something here.
