Title: How to install sme server on Compaq DL380 server

On this server I try to install Sme Server, I have Smartstart 5.1 but it don`t work?
What is the way to install Sme Server in this server?

Compaq DL380 server

Processor: P3 - 1 Ghz
Geheugen: 1024 MB (vrijwel nieuw)
Controller: Smart Array 5302-64 controller
Harddisks: 2x 9 GB & 2x 18 GB (vrijwel nieuw)
Tapestreamer: 12/24 GB DAT
Drives: 3,5 inch diskdrive & CD-rom speler
Netwerk: 2 netwerkaansluitingen (1 onboard, 1 extra kaart)
Voeding: 1 voeding

looks like you may need smartstart version 7.51 ?

Sme don`t see the scsi disc`s

So search on HCL (Hardware Compatibility List) of Centos 4.6 if your hardware is supported. SME 7.3 is Centos 4.6 based and use same kernel.
If Centos supports it... it will work. Otherwise... :(

Have you setup the drives in an array?

I have a Compaq DL380 with 6, 36GB drives setup as 5 in RAID 5 with one hot spare.

Once I had that setup, the install CD ran without a problem!

You could setup each drive as a separate drive and then have the OS configure it in RAID but the hardware RAID is faster but you have to tell the server what drives it has before you can load the OS.
