Hi
I read a similar post about hang-up detection using the TDM card. My issue is also similar.
I have a greeting that will be played each time a caller rings the asterisk box through SPA3102.
When I designed the IVR, at timeout I used "repeat message" value causing the message to repeat after timeout.
During the testing phase, I noticed that when I hung up my call to asterisk (I did not select an option during the IVR), the call never got disconnected. From then on
repeated attempts to call the asterisk box were thwarted by a engaged dialtone. When I picked up the receiver of an analog phone connected to the SPA3102, I came to
understand that the IVR kept on repeating on timeout and never disconnected the line.
In summary, I want the asterisk to be able to recognise the disconnect signal from the other end and stop playing the IVR message on and on... As a stopgap measure, I have selected the "Hang up" option instead of the "repeat message" option for the action to be taken after the timeout period.
Thanks
Ronald

You'll need to read up on the hang-up detection settings for the TDM400 in your country and for the specific carrier you are using (if not the national PTT).
Once you know what they are you can set your card up correctly. The TDM was built initially for Bellcore networks and then modified for others. Unfortunately, network disconnect signalling varies greatly from country to country.

Hi
Thanks for the earlier reply.
However I am not using TDM cards in my asterisk setup. I am only using SPA3102 to make inbound and outbound calls.

sorry. Late here
Same rules apply. You need to set the spa up correctly for your telco.
