Title: FTP access from LAN to Internet though E-smith
Post by: Ross on May 03, 2002, 07:05:36 AM
Hi all

I have a e-smith server (4.1) that acts as a gateway to the Intenet. It has two network cards one internal with an IP address of 192.168.1.254 and one external with an IP of xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx.

My problem is that I can't seem to use a ftp client program to upload files to my ISP.

Any help on setting's or a (free) program to use would be appreciated.

Thanks
Ross

Thanks Scotty, the passive mode has enabled it to work.

You don't have to change settings on e-smith, you have to set the options in your FTP client program.  Set it to use passive mode (PASV) when connecting to FTP sites.
