Title: Installing contribs and reboot
Post by: Paspv on August 28, 2008, 05:50:10 PM
The installation of an SME Server is very easy and quick. After the installation and running updates I want to install several Contribs on the server, like:

After each Contrib there is a "signal-event post-upgrade; signal-event reboot" command which, in total, takes quite some time. Is it possible to install several Contribs and then do 1 upgrade/reboot command? Or is it better to do it after every Contrib? If it is better to reboot after each Contrib that's fine, I am just curious.

Yes, you can install all of the contribs, then post-upgrade and reboot.  But, if for some reason you have a failure after installing a group of contribs, then it may make it harder to trouble shoot the offending contrib.

Thanks for your answer. So far these Contribs work perfect but I understand your point.
