I am currently running SME V. 5.1.2. I would like to install a chat server on my SME box. Anyone had any experiences with doing this. Any help would be appreciated. I was looking at Voodoo...anyone tried that yet?
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance

I noticed that there was a Jabber server blade available for SME. Go to http://www.khunjarnet.com/downloads/jabber/ or seach for "jabber" in these forums.
I have not downloaded it but I would be interested in hearing your experience with it. If you are not familiar with Jabber, it appears to be the ONLY OPEN-SOURCECODE server available that is evidently going through the ietf motions. See www.jabber.org and www.jabbercentral.com for more information on Jabber clients and servers. There are currently gateways to MSN chat and ICQ available. I have also heard about J2ME jabber clients for the Blackberry, Motorola Accompli and some server implimentations of Imode. Keep you eyes on www.midletcentral.com for more examples.
Finally there appears to be a commercial release of the Jabber server at www.jabber.com. It would be interesting to know what the degree of difficulty would be build an SME blade install/wrapper for the Jabber Everywhere release.
If you decide to look at this blade, please provide feedback to this thread!
Regards,
Mark

I did set up jabber server using the how-to located at:
http://www.genner.on.ca/noahville/mitel/jabber-howto.htm
By Noah Genner and John Cusick
It worked flawlessly. I set it up and was chatting in 30 min. I have tried using the msn client mostly...but no probs at all. It even installs a panel in server-manager.
