Hi all,
I'm considering getting an external modem and installing hylafax.
I was just curious if I have to use an email client to send a fax, or can I send a fax via webmail/horde ?
Please advise, thanks

Of course you can use horde, or any other webmail to send faxs. Webmails are just like any other mail client.

Thanks, thats good news.
I just came up with this question because the contribs installation instructions mostly mention the sending of faxes via client and must be a text email only, with either a post script, pdf, tiff attachments only.
So it raised the question for me regarding webmail.
And one last question if you could please ? Sending the fax via webmail should not limit me to being on the local network right ? I should be able to send a fax anyplace I can have access to my webmail right ?
Please confirm, thanks again.

Yes, of course. The mail2fax gateway will work as long as you can send mails to your server. It can be via webmail (it doesn't make any difference if you access it on the local network, or from anywhere on the internet), or via smtp(s) with a desktop mail client (again, it's working from the local network, but also from the internet if you have enabled smtps from the outside).

Cool, thanks
Now to go get me an external modem to make things easy.
