Title: caching proxy server question

I think this question was asked awhile back but got no reply
we often download the same files from the internet on all workstations
would be nice to have E-smith cache these files on the server, so it wont bogg down the slow 56k dialup connection, If someone could help/lead the way to setup E-smith 5.1.2 as a caching proxy server it would be great

John,

sme (from version 5.1) has a transparent proxy server installed as default
http://www.e-smith.org/docs/manual/5.1/app-proxysrv.html
to disable it read
http://www.e-smith.org/faq.php3#8q31
don't know/haven't tried to alter any settings.
