Title: Norstar to Asterisk integration - anyone ever done it?
Post by: jkcashin on October 03, 2008, 11:52:19 PM
Anyone here have any experience with this? I have a full Norstar PBX in my house, but Asterisk looks like it will fit some of my needs better.. and the Norstar could provide me a migration path until I am full Asterisk..

Yeah, I could search the net, and did search this site, but I was wondering if there's any experience here specific to SME-Server

We've done a few different switches; Siemens, Avaya, Ericsson, Mitel, usually using PRI. However we recently did a Nortel/SARK integration using an 8 channel MVP-810 analogue/SIP gateway.  I can talk to the guys who did it but I don't think it was a big deal.  The 810 is easy to hook up to SARK and to the Nortel it just looked like 8 CO lines.  This effectively "VoIPed" the old Nortel  :)
