I have done a mod that can do a change between run level alternatives like this:
signal-event conf-lamp-server
signal-event post-upgrade
signal-event reboot
And back to standard server-only configuration:
signal-event conf-server-only
signal-event post-upgrade
signal-event reboot
Minimum runtime option has been tested runing on only 64 MB RAM.
The intended use is for virtual server installations and for embedded systems.
Hopefully all works has this time been done according to proper documantation, and correct procedures.
What should I do, post it here (a howto), or post it in the bug tracker as a feature request, or not post at all ?
Excuse me if this was an unwanted modification. I will then not post it at all.

Arne, you've been told many times that the only way to add such a functionality is via the bug-tracker..
devs are waiting for your code..

I did actually do a post on the bug tracker, some weeks ago, but I think the Idea I was working on was not completely understood. Actually I did not understand it completeley myself either, before the end of the project. (In this way may explanations of the idea was maybe not to good.)
What I was trying to find out was if I should open the old bug tracker item, or open a new. I think I open a new one, as the "idea" somehow has changed from the original post.
I think I will try to post a new feature request in the bugtracker and post a some kind of "howto" that explain how things were done. Than possibly some of it can be used. (It is actually technically tree different smaller modificiations combined together to obtain an end ressult.)

hi
if you have posted your code to the bugtracker, then wait.. and, eventually, answer clearly to the devs' questions..
of course, you need to clarify yourself what you are doing and why.. ;-)
Ciao
