Post by: u2c4 on October 14, 2008, 10:27:06 AM
I have installed SME server 7.3 in my local area network for months without any problem, however i noticed users could send email externally (exp:to gmail, yahoo account). is there a way to prevent users from sending email externally?

Server Mode: serveronly
Local IP address / subnet mask:   192.168.0.100/255.255.255.0
Gateway:   192.168.0.1

if your SME is in server-only mode, you'd have a firewall between wan ed your lan, don't you?

if so, simply create a rule on your FW to block outgoing connection to remoter server on port 25 tcp..

Thank you stafeno, your advised has been helpful. I will look into BlockOutTraffic plugin for my IPcop firewall.
