Hi Guys,
I've got my SME 7.3 (up to date as of 16th Oct 2008) running a dansguardian/squid proxy.
I have recently noticed some odd behavior which I haven't seen on SME before. Even with this type of configuration: When downloading an exe file from the internet, a blue box with a percentage bar pops up and proceeds to download the files remotely before passing a download link on screen. I see the following when I click on a link, e.g. http://mirror.tomato.it/ftp/pub/mozilla/mirror/firefox/win32/en-US/Firefox%20Setup%201.0.4.exe:
[##########--------------------]
20%, time remaining: 14:29; 5 Kb/s; total downloaded: 111 Kb
(My current workplace doesn't allow the posting of pictures, hopefully this will help...)
I think this is something to do with either squid or dansguardian. Can anyone help with switching this behavior off...?
Thanks,
Robert

dansguardian is downloading the file first
then it checks for a virus
see the dans howto to either disable av or one of the other options available
