Since a couple of days my backup job (which i've running for a couple of months) never completes.
before i got an email when the jobs finishes but now i get the mail at the beginning stating:
Connecting /mnt/dar2/full to //station1/share
Expanding /etc/dar2/full template
Creating /mnt/dar2/full/sme.myezserver.com/full/db.zip
Expiring old backups
Executing pre-backup event
I can also see (with grep) the dar2 process is still running (for hours), but it seems not to write anything (except the db.zip) into the smb share.
Does anyone have any ideas?

While dar is running, take a look in the tmp_dir directory in the Samba share. While dar is doing the actual work, it uses [share]/tmp_dir/[hostname.domain]/ directory, and then if the backup is successful it copies the files into [share]/[hostname.domain]/setX/ at the end.
I'm working with what could be a similar problem on the bug tracker, see http://bugs.contribs.org/show_bug.cgi?id=4630

Txs for the the advise,
i resceduled my backup,
but there is no tmp_dir on my share while the dar2 process is running. As is stated before only the db.zip file can be found on my share.
The dar2 proces is running but it seems to be doing nothing?

It sounds like you have a different issue. Perhaps you should file your own bug.

I have put in a bug in the bugtracker:
