Title: OBM Groupware
Post by: Mat78 on October 22, 2008, 07:49:16 PM
Hi,
I'm not a developer but surfing in internet I find a groupware project thet looks very nice (http://obm.org/doku.php?id=what_is_obm) and it includes a lot of features (as shared calendar, contacts, tasks, documents, synchronization with Outlook or Thunderbird and PDA phones, etc.).

Does anybody has ever tried to setup OBM on a SMESERVER?

Thanx for your answer.

Matteo

Hi Matteo

since

OBM Mail is based on cyrus, postfix and some automation done in perl.

I think is not possible to install OBM on SME

if you are looking for an advanced groupware solution (without CRM), take a look at zarafa (http://www.zaraga.com) and his wiki page (http://wiki.contribs.org/Zarafa)

The open source Zarafa version 6.20 is still a beta version.  The SME zarafa rpm is still only an alpha version.  Fine for testing, but not a great idea for a production machine.

I have been running Zarafa on a test machine and am very impressed.  I would like nothing better than to upgrade it to production status.  Darrell has been doing a fine job of spearheading the SME portion of the project.  I think some more patience is required..
