Title: How to Connect a FORZA UPS Model
Post by: veebr0 on November 02, 2008, 10:51:20 PM
Dear Friends a Just added a new one UPS FORZA via USB and I'm trying to configure it in order to guarantee our home data, this mean, ensure an automatically propertly shutdown server.
When I ron the following command in console:
 "tail -100 /var/log/messages"

I can see that the system immediately recognized the device  due to receive the following message:

"Nov  2 16:41:50 server1 kernel: hiddev96: USB HID v1.00 Device [Cypress Semiconductor USB to Serial] on usb-0000:00:1d.0-2"

I just reading an excellent document at :
http://wiki.contribs.org/SME_Server:Documentation:Technical_Manual:Chapter4#Default_Configuration_.28USB.29

But really I Don't get the right steps to finally install and let the UPS work fine, so never work.

SME Server 7.3
UPS Model:750VA FORZA POWER CL-750 BLACK MOD. LS-751
I'm using NUT to get the UPS control

I really appreciate your Full collaboration

Thanks in advances
Eviny

Hi Eviny,

SME Server use nut http://www.networkupstools.org/. Hardware compatibility maintained by them.
For compatible list of hardware see : http://www.networkupstools.org/compat/

As your UPS not listed, I think you are out of luck...
