Post by: linuxhelp on November 06, 2008, 11:13:19 PM
Hello

after a broken SSH Connection to Admin-Console i can not reset to Hostnames+Adresses View

always DNS Forwarding is always shown.

i made an reset and a signal-event post-upgrade but no help...

is there a db-command to set it?

Thanks Tom

Hello

i was using the console to configure the server. Then i get a ssh disconnect, logged in as admin again,
and entered console again, after this i wasn't able to disable dns-forwarding
to solve it i set DNS Server to another Server, and reboot, set it back.
But without entered DNS-Server entry the server-manager shows "DNS Forward" enabled
that i can not enter Local IPs of my other pcs.

I think that Hostnames+Adresses is crumbled.. :-(
i hope that i mst not make a fresh setup again?
it is possible that to instances of console destroys each other?
very bad..

Hello,

no sorry it did not help, i was forced to restore a backup (smeserver.tgz) to get old state.
After this i have made a closer look at /home/e-smith/db/hosts this was the not taken file by the server-manager interface.
For better understanding the work of the pulled databases, if i do a signal-event post-upgrade sme takes the data of the db-files and configure itself? and in which file does sme save ALL generated informations?
i looked at the system with #db configuration show and get:

...
dhcpd=service
    Bootp=deny
    end=192.168.178.250
    start=192.168.178.125
    status=disabled
dnscache=service
    TCPPort=53
    UDPPort=53
    access=private
    status=enabled
dnscache.forwarder=service
    status=enabled
...

it this the area of config for Hostnames and Addresses Settings?
Do sme add the informations into a mysql database?? i found noting there..
