Hi

has anyone tried to install the RT or RTIR from http://bestpractical.com?

I found this page with a dead link to am installer:

Nothing found in the wiki, and nothing in the forum. So I guess not. But if I go ahead installing and end up messing up a server I will blame myself for not asking in here first ;-)

Request Tracker requires a bazillion Perl modules and numerous other things. Unless you really require some of its more advanced features, try sticking to something simpler, like OSTicket (http://www.osticket.com/).

Alternatively, this wiki article (http://wiki.contribs.org/Cerberus_Helpdesk) details how to install Cerberus Helpdesk on SME Server.

Thanks for your reply.
I will look into your suggestions. We just need some kind of acceptable ticket system. Not neccessarily the RT. Both OSTicket and Cerberus could be good choices. I will look into then.
